About Poppy Seed Grinder The band was founded by Dohnal brothers (Yarda – guitar, Jiri – drums) and few mads from Prague surrounding villages at 1997. Everybody is asking where the hell Poppy Seed Grinder name they´ve found – so – after mind breaking days of searching – inspiration was hidden in their moms food store (picture of present food store will be added soon:o) and of course nobodies spoke english that time… First demo „Brutallized“ was released on 1998, with czech lyrics and the band moved forward a lot from that times. Second unnamed demo 2000 is forestalling change of line-up, first gigs abroad (Switzerland), big festivals in czech republic (Obscene Extreme, Brutal Assault) and recording contract at Grodhaisn prod for split CD with german Defeated Sanity „Talk Evolution“ 2002. Starting that time are guys from Poppy Seed Grinder focusing on gigs all around Europe, tour 2003 with czech Cerebral Turbulency (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech republic) also important was pilsner gig with Vader and Krisiun. Tour 2004 with swiss Cropment and finnish Deepred (Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, France and Swithzeland). This tour as well as playing on many czech gigs (including again Obscene Extreme and Brutal Assault fests) companied release of their first regular CD at Khaaranus prod „Oppressed Reality“ 2004. Tour 2005 covered Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italia, Slovenia, Croatia and Autstria) accompanied with czech Alienation Mental. Other important appearances are : Belgian „Rottin in the Sun fest“ and czech „No Mercy festival“ with Cannibal Coprse and Kataklysm. 2006 minitour (Slovakia, Bosnia and Austria) and again „No Mercy“ festival, bunch of summer fest especially domiciliary Krhanice Open Air. News - the band is after line-up change - return of original drummer and new bassguitar. Foreign fans has change to see them first - at Strassbourg and Depth of Winter fest. Poppy Seed Grinder is planning new CD for spring/summer 2007 and supporting wide Europe tour autumn 2007 – Hope to see you all!!!
