Первым в банду вошёл ударник Андреас Лилль ( из группы Vanden Plas ), вокалиста тоже выбирать долго не пришлось - им стал швед Энди Энгберг , так как Торбен был давним большим поклонником его голоса. Энгберг как раз в то время ушёл из группы Lion's Share и практически сразу проявил интерес к работе с Торбеном и Андреасом. Стиль музыки группы тоже немного изменился, это ,правда был уже не мелодик- Хардрок, а более сложный - Прогрессив- метал , что только сделало музыку более интересной и разнообразной. При записании альбома ,кроме всех гитарных партий Торбен Эневолдсен записал партии бас-гитары и основных клавишных .В работе над альбомом приняли участие по приглашению Дерек Шериниан (PLANET X), Гюнтер Верно (VANDEN PLAS) , которым очень понравилась идея поработать поработать с этой группой. Несмотря на разные сложности и препятствия, дебютный альбом "The Seventh Sign” был записан, сделано микширование и мастеринг. И вот в апреле 2003 г.альбом был выпущен по всему миру. Свой второй альбом "Parallel Lives" Section A выпустил в феврале 2006 г. Этот альбом в музыкальном плане получился более сложным и интересным, в записи участвовал новый барабанщик Йохан Колеберг (экс-Lion's Share), а также специальные гости Понтус Эгберг (экс-Lion's Share) и Мэтс Олауссон (экс-Yngwie Malmsteen). В настоящее время Section A занят записью материала для третьего альбома. В записи альбома участвует Гюнтер Верно (Vanden Plas). //Обзор Darksage

И вот оно- первое интервъю, взятое у моих хороших друзей, одной из любимых групп. На мои вопросы ответил Торбен Эневолдсен, гитарист и основатель группы SECTION A. Here are my answers to your questions: 1 . When and in what way was your band formed , who was its founder and who found out its name ? I formed the band back in 2001. I had done a few instrumental releases and felt like it was time for a change. I started writing some new material and began contacting the musicians. I had been a fan of Andy Engberg's voice for quite some time and since he had just left Lion's Share, he was very interested in joining the band. I asked Andreas Lill to play the drums and he also said yes right away. I decided to call the band Section A, simply because I like that name...
I write all the music and Andy Engberg and Conny Welén writes the lyrics.Thomas Ewerhard did the logo and the artwork for the first album and Carl-André Beckston did the artwork for the second album. 3 . Who was your producer in different times and with what labels did you strike contracts ? I have produced both of our albums myself. We signed them both to the Finnish label Lion Music for the release in Europe and Marquee/Avalon and Gencross have released the albums in Japan. 4 . What album was made more difficult and easily , what album is the favourite , is there any song that you adore much ? The first album was probably the most difficult one to make. We had a lot of bad luck and got delayed quite a bit. The second album wasn't exactly easy to make, but things went a bit smoother for us I think. I personally like our second album the most. I think that we defined our sound and basically found our true identity on that album. I wouldn't be able to pick a favourite song because I am very proud of all the songs and I like them all for various reasons. 5 . In what countries have you already been with your performances and where did you like to perform the best of all ? We have unfortunately not been able to tour so far. Mainly because we are all very busy working on various projects and bands, and it has simply been impossible for us to find the time. I am however determined to change that now and I am going to make it a priority for Section A in the future. 6 . What rock - bands and musicians are your friends , whose music is closer to you ? We have quite a few good friends, but as a band, I would say that we are especially good friends with Vanden Plas, Derek Sherinian, Mats Olausson and Lion's Share. We all like different kinds of bands and musicians, but we are all into Dream Theater, Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen and so on... 7 . What is your relation to politics , have you any songs with the political meaning ? We are not really a political band, so we try not to write songs with a political message. 8 . What are your hobbies ? Well, I personally love music so much that it kinda fills up my entire day. I do however like sports as well, so I sometimes watch games on the tv. I also like to watch movies and sit-coms and stuff like that. 9 . What are your plans for the future ? We are currently busy working on our third album, so we want to finish that and afterwards, hopefully we will finally be able to tour. 1 0 . What is your relation to « Myspace » , have you found here the real friends ? I have actually been lucky enough to make a few real friends. I have also made some very good connections, so I am a genuine MySpace fan ;-) А теперь и на русском 1.Когда и как образовалась ваша группа , кто её основал и придумал название Я сформировал группу в 2001 году . Д этого я сделал несколько инструментальных релизов , но чувствовал, что пришло время для перемен . И вот я начал писать новый материал и связываться с разными музыкантами . Я был поклонником голоса Энди Енгберга в течение довольно длительного времени и, поскольку он только что покинул Lion's Share (Львиная Доля), да и он был заинтересован в присоединении к моей группе . Какой альбом создавался сложно,а какой легко,какой альбом самый любимый,есть ли самая любимая песня Вероятно, самой трудной задачей сделать было Первый альбом . В то время мне немного не везло и выпуск задержался..Второй альбом было не совсем легко сделать, но дело пошло более плавно для нас ,я думаю. Мне лично понравился наш второй альбом в наибольшей степени. Я думаю, что мы определили наше звучание, саунд , и в основном найдены наша подлинная сущность о этом альбоме. Я не смогу выбрать любимую песню потому, что я очень горжусь всеми песнями, и я люблю их все по разным причинам. 5. В каких странах вы уже побывали с выступлениями и где больше всего понравилось ? Мы, к сожалению, не смогли пока организовать тур. Главным образом потому, что мы все очень заняты, работающие над различными проектами и в группах, и это просто невозможно для нас - чтобы найти время. Но я полон решимости изменить положение , и я собираюсь сделать эту идею приоритетной для Секции А / SECTION A в будущем. 6. Какие рокгруппы и музыканты ваши друзья, чья музыка вам ближе ? Мы имеем довольно много хороших друзей, а вот из групп я бы сказал ,что наши особенно хорошими друзьями являются Vanden Plas, Derek Sherinian, Mats Olausson и Lion's Share. Каждому из нас нравятся самые разные группы и музыканты , но мы одинаково любим Dream Theater, Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen и так далее ... 7. Ваше отношение к политике,есть ли у вас песни с политическим смыслом Мы не политическая группа, так что мы стараемся не писать песни с политическими заявлениями. 8. Какие увлечения в свободное от музыки время Ну, я лично люблю музыку настолько, что она заполняет весь мой день. И, тем не менее, наверно спорт, так что я иногда люблю смотреть игры по ТВ. Я также люблю смотреть фильмы и комедии и прочее подобное. 9. Ваши планы на будущее В настоящее время мы работаем над созданием нашего третьего альбома , так что мы хотим довести это до конца, а после этого, мы надеемся, будет, наконец, проведён тур. 10. Ваше отношение к Myspace, нашли ли вы здесь настоящих друзей Мне на самом деле уже посчастливилось найти здесь несколько реальных друзей. 2005 Tracklist 1. 1:49 A.M. Current line-up Former/past member(s) Flying Solo is an instrumental powerhouse of an album, more driven by melody then pure gut-wrenching guitar pyrotechnics. This isn’t to say that Torben doesn’t burn a hole through a fret board or two. The statement is more a testament to the fact that Torben is mature enough not to get wrapped up completely himself, but to devote ample time and energy to each track’s composition. Tracks like "1:49 A.M." and "Beyond Compare" are examples of how Torben can open and end a flurry of guitar notes with a soft-spoken melody line. Several of the tracks contain similar moments of confidence and plateaus. That which starts out as a quiet passage, can abruptly erupt into a flurry of guitar runs. Highlights include "Departure," which is a high-paced rocker in a Satriani sort of way, all without sounding at all like Joe. "Odd Measures" is another burner that has a nice, melodic guitar line, reminiscent of UFO guitarist Vinnie Moore’s earlier solo days. There’s not an awful track on this release. Some songs might indeed require a listen or two to fully appreciate them, but on subsequent spins you’ll almost feel like every song tells a story all its own. The only complaint is the rhythm section (bass and drums), which, at times, sound somewhat mechanical, lacking in soul and come through light on the bottom end (especially tracks like "Odd Measures"). While reviewing this release, there was no information available as to other musicians that might have played on other instruments, so it is possible that a drum machine was employed. One can only imagine what this release would have sounded like with a drummer having a more bottom end and jazzier feel like Jeff Campitelli, Steve Smith, or Atma Anur. Bottom line, fans of instrumental, melodic guitarists like Satriani, Vinnie Moore, and Anand will thoroughly enjoy this release ... especially if you’re the type that likes a little melody stirred in with their guitar shredding. While there isn’t a lot to bang your head to, there is enough to keep your air guitar cranked to 10.// original link | |
